BenchMark is a community-driven web app that lets users discover, add, rate and review public benches on an interactive map. It is currently a personal, non-commercial project.

Users under 16 are allowed to use BenchMark but their account must be created, owned and managed by a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising activity and ensuring compliance with these Terms.

If you are 16 or 17 you may use BenchMark independently but you must still have permission from a parent or guardian. You must be 18 or older to post in any future community forums or discussion features if added.

If a parent or guardian discovers that a child under 16 is using an account not managed by them, they may contact us to request removal of the account and any associated data.

You can sign up using email and password or Google sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You must not share your account or impersonate others. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these Terms.

BenchMark allows you to upload and share bench locations, photos, ratings and comments. By posting content you confirm it is your own or you have permission to share it. You give BenchMark permission to display and use it within the app. Other users can view your content.

You must not post offensive, abusive, harmful, false, misleading or illegal content, or anything that violates someone else's rights.

BenchMark uses GPS location data to place benches and allow check-ins within 100 metres. By using these features you agree to location data being used. You can disable location access but some features may not work.

Photos and app data are stored using Google Firebase on US servers. By uploading photos you agree they may be stored and processed outside the UK. Do not upload illegal content or images that violate privacy.

Users can report inappropriate content. Reports are reviewed by admins. We aim to keep the community respectful but cannot guarantee immediate action.

Admins can remove content, suspend or ban users, and manage reports to protect the platform.

BenchMark relies on user contributions. Locations, descriptions and ratings may not be accurate. Bench conditions may change. You use the app at your own risk. We do not guarantee benches exist, are safe or accessible, or that map data is always correct.

You must not use the app for illegal purposes, attempt to disrupt the service, upload spam, or use the app commercially without permission.

Data is stored using Firebase. We only collect data needed to run the app.

You can stop using BenchMark at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you break these Terms.

We may update these Terms. Continued use means you accept changes.

BenchMark is provided as-is. We are not responsible for inaccurate content, loss of data, or issues caused by relying on the app.
